Principal Garden
2 Bedroom Condominium
Prince Charles Crescent
The project is a two-bedroom condominium unit located at Principal Garden, Prince Charles Crescent, Singapore. The unit was delivered in a partially fitted condition with base finishes including flooring, bathrooms, ceilings, and selected built-in provisions for kitchen, wardrobe, and bathroom areas.
The spatial configuration presented a combined living and dining area adjacent to an open-plan kitchen. The primary design challenge was the integration of dining functionality within a constrained open-plan layout without disrupting spatial clarity or circulation flow.
The design adopts a linear spatial integration strategy, consolidating multiple functional requirements into a continuous built-in system along a single architectural axis. This approach allows the living, dining, and storage functions to operate as one integrated spatial structure while maintaining visual simplicity.
A full-length built-in system was introduced, extending from the entry point through to the living area. This linear element integrates shoe storage, display niches, full-height storage, concealed DB cabinet, glass display shelving, additional kitchen storage, bar counter, and dining surface within a single continuous composition.
The living area is supported by a minimal TV feature wall designed to conceal cabling and maintain a clean visual profile while providing essential storage functions.
Ceiling modifications were introduced in the kitchen zone through cove lighting, softening the spatial atmosphere and creating a more residential hospitality-like ambience. Lighting is further supplemented with restrained pendant fixtures and recessed spotlights to support functional illumination without visual clutter.
Bedrooms are treated with a consistent material and furnishing approach, including feature headboard walls, selected loose furniture, and soft finishes aligned with the overall interior language of the unit.
The project resolves spatial constraints through a consolidated built-in strategy that integrates multiple domestic functions into a single linear system. The resulting environment achieves spatial efficiency, visual continuity, and functional clarity within a compact residential footprint.
